8 –1 p.m. Identification Cards Farinon (Buttery Room)
Stop by Farinon College Center during your time period to have your picture taken for your Lafayette ID card. ID cards will be distributed to you tomorrow with the photo you have taken today. The College requires you to carry your ID at all times while on campus. Your ID also serves as your meal pass and will be used for entry into events such as athletic events and all-College events. At this time, you will also record the correct pronunciation of your name and provide your emergency contact information, if you have not already done so.
8:30 a.m.–1 p.m. Personal Computer Residence Halls
Your Network ID and Password will be required for Network/Internet access. Computer technicians wearing Sundance Networks nametags will be available in residence hall lobbies/lounge areas. Information Technology Services staff will be available to answer computer-related questions at the Tech Lounge located on the lower level of Pardee Hall Thursday- Saturday from 12 noon-4pm and 12 noon-10pm on Sunday. Further assistance is available through the Lafayette Student Help Desk—call (610) 330-5506 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Network cables may be purchased in the College Store on the lower level of Farinon College Center.
9 a.m.–1 p.m. Resource Tables Farinon College Center
Parents and students are encouraged to visit staffed tables from various College offices such as Career Services, Advising and Co-Curricular Programs, and Campus Life to better understand the wide variety of services available at the College. In addition, there will be information from the Office of Parent Relations, where parents can also pick up their “Lafayette Class of 2019 Family Pin.”
10 –11 a.m. Maroon Club Reception Kirby Sports Center 3rd Floor
First-year athletes are encouraged to join the Maroon Club in welcoming new parents and families to the Lafayette Community. The Director of Athletics, Bruce McCutcheon, and the Maroon Club President, Cindy Oaks Linville ’80, P’13. P’18, will give remarks about the Athletic Department and the role of the Maroon Club in supporting student athletes and fans.

Join us for a family picnic lunch on The Quad, the heart of Lafayette’s campus and the site of important College events including Convocation and Commencement! Sit down and relax for a while, or just grab some lunch to go, if you still have errands to run. This luncheon period should be used to finish up last-minute details before parents depart campus this afternoon.

While your parents are in their orientation session, students will meet their orientation groups, Resident Adviser, and Orientation Leader to begin what we hope will be a connected community for your four years at the College.

While students are in their Community Meetings, parents will attend one parent orientation session (according to their group assignment listed above) to learn about the many services offered by the Office of Parent Relations and to receive important information about academic advising and tutoring, campus life, and transition issues. This is the time to meet other parents and to ask questions before the semester begins.
3:45 p.m.-4:15 p.m. Your Time: Welcoming You to Lafayette on the Quad (Rain Site: Kirby Sports Center Arena)
Join President Byerly and Mayor Panto for the official opening of First-Year Orientation. Before the Orientation Leaders take you to your class photo, there will be an opportunity for family farewells.
4:15 p.m. Class Photo Quad (Rain Site: Kirby Sports Center Arena)
Following family good-byes, the Bells of South College will toll, signaling the Class of 2019 to assemble for their first Class of 2018 milestone. OL’s will lead students to the site of their class photo, where the official photo will be taken of the Class of 2018 and the 184th graduating class at the College!
For Parents: 4:30-5:30 p.m. President’s Garden Reception President’s House (Rain Site: Wilson Room, Pfenning Alumni Center)
Families are invited to relax, enjoy light refreshments, and talk with President Byerly before leaving campus. Follow signs to the President’s House, which is located at 515 College Avenue.
